Product Detail
Quinta do Infantado Tawny Port stands out dramatically from other standard tawnies because it is crafted in the house's signature “meio-seco” (medium-dry) style. Driven by the Roseira family, this estate-bottled Port is fermented longer, resulting in roughly 30% less residual sugar than typical commercial ports. It relies heavily on natural alcohol from the grapes rather than heavy fortification with added grape brandy, making it exceptionally vinous, mineral-driven, and balanced.
Taste Profile
  • Color: Reddish-amber or brick red with bright reflections.
  • Nose: Expressive and savory-sweet, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and berry cobbler layered over roasted hazelnuts, vanilla, toffee, and coffee grounds.
  • Palate: Silk-textured, full-bodied, and remarkably fresh. Its lower sugar content lets the intense black fruit, slate-like minerality, and structural tannins shine through without the heavy, syrupy weight of common tawnies.
  • Finish: Crisp, clean, and slightly oxidative with notes of praline, cocoa, and espresso beans.
Food Pairings
Because this Tawny has less sugar and high natural acidity, it functions brilliantly as both a savory companion and a digestif:
  • Savory & Charcuterie: Exceptional with smoked Gouda melted over ham, savory terrines, or standard domestic walnuts.
  • Cheese Course: Mild blue cheeses, sharp white cheddar, or lightly aged soft cheeses.
  • Less-Sweet Desserts: Classic apple pie with caramel drizzle, fig cakes, or a nut-based pastry.
  • Rich Surprises: Its high acidity and structural balance make it a highly acclaimed, contrarian match for rich items like duck pâté or even caviar.
